Dr. Inderjeet Singh has been appointed as the second Vice-Chancellor of Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna, as per the notification issued by the Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Prior to this, Dr. Singh served as the Vice-Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana. Under his leadership, the university achieved significant advancements in academic excellence, research initiatives, and extension activities related to animal husbandry.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh brings over three decades of experience in veterinary science and animal husbandry. He completed his Bachelorโs and Masterโs degrees in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, and earned a Ph.D. in Animal Reproduction from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. He has been honored with several prestigious international recognitions and key responsibilities for his outstanding services and contributions.
From 2013 to 2018, Dr. Singh served as the Director of the Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (CIRB), Hisar (Haryana). During this tenure, he specialized in developing advanced breeds of buffaloes, particularly focusing on the breeding techniques and management of the Murrah buffalo, earning him the title of โMurrah Man.โ His expertise has greatly benefitted farmers in Punjab and Haryana.
