Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology celebrated World Milk Day on June 1, 2019. A camp was organized and flavoured milk was distributed among the children in the Dalit colony near Jagdeopath to create awareness about benefits of milk consumption. Students of the institute participated in a debate and song competition to commemorate the occasion. Besides, a milk day lecture was organized in which Dr J B Prajapati, Principal and Dean, SMC College of Dairy Science, Anand, Gujarat presented the minutiae of Indian Dairy sector. Dr Rameshwar Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna chaired the session and emphasized the role of dairy sector which is expected to increase many fold in the near future.
