Day4: Workshop update @JharkhandVan
The forenoon sessions of the workshop on wildlife conservation and management for the officials and frontline staff of Jharkhand dealt with understanding the life history, behaviour, and other biological and ecological attributes of snakes that are crucial for effective conservation. Field identification techniques for snakes involved recognizing key features like scale patterns, coloration, and habitat preferences. Practical sessions were conducted for handling and restraint techniques for snakes and other reptiles focusing on minimizing stress and injury, utilizing tools for ensuring safety for both the handler and the animal. The sessions were led by Dr C Ramesh and Dr Abhijit Das.
