Day4: Workshop update @JharkhandVan
Session on wildlife research techniques focused on remote drug delivery systems, equipment and monitoring was led by Dr Parag Nigam and included practical demonstrations and hands-on practice, covering the assembly of equipment used in physical and chemical restraint and dart assembly. Participants learnt to handle and deploy tools effectively, ensuring accurate and humane drug delivery in field conditions, and enhancing their practical skills and safety. Final session of the day was led by Mr Suniti Bhushan Datta on human safety considerations while working in the wilderness, including dealing with wildlife encounters, extreme weather, and difficult terrain, with practical training on the use of protective gear, navigation skills, and emergency communication devices. treating injuries, managing medical conditions, stabilising individuals, and using Automated External Defibrillators until help arrives.
