A Comparison of Nutritive Value among Different Varieties of Meat

Meat is the best source of protein, which the body needs to function optimally. Red meat is also a good source of iron, vitamin B, riboflavin, thiamin and niacin. Here is a comparison of nutritive values of various types of meat.

Chicken

Chicken is consider as white meat because it contains less myoglobin than red meat (beef, mutton, pork).Chicken meat is a most type of poultry. Good source of energy. Good source of all essential and non-essential amino acids. Chicken meat has no carbohydrates. Chicken meat has less saturated fat than red meat.

Saturated fat raises blood cholesterol and heart diseases. Chicken meat also a good source of niacin, protein, selenium, vitamin B6 ,phosphorous, chlorine, pantothenic acid and vitamin B12.Skinless chicken breast have one gram of saturated fat per 100gram.Per cent daily values based on 2,000.Daily values may be higher or lower depending upon calories.

Beef

Beef is name for meat from bovines especially cattle and buffalo and considered to be the most nutrient rich food. Beef meat is good source for protein, iron, zinc, vitamin B12, phosphorous, niacin, vitamin B6 and riboflavin.It is called red meat because contain more myoglobin then chicken meat and also contain more saturated fat and cholesterol.

Zinc helps to create a healthy immune system

Phosphorous is necessary for strong teeth and bones.

Iron carries oxygen to blood and prevents muscle to fatigue. Conjugated linoleic acid found in beef naturally which acts as cancer prevention by inhibiting tumor growth and development and also effect body composition by decreasing fat and increasing lean muscle mass.

Camel Meat

Camel meat is salty in nature and has low fat than beef and mutton. Camel meat also has low cholesterol (61mg) than mutton and beef. Good source of calcium and vitamin B complex. Camel meat has high glycogen so used in sausage  industry. Meat of old camel has hard and thick fiber and high levels of amino acids due to low intramuscular fat. Meat fat of camel is creamy in nature. Some research also showed that camel meat prevents obesity and cancer prevention.

Venison

Venison is meat come from deer. It has low saturated fat and contains 3gram total fat and only one gram is saturated fat. Venison has no carbohydrates, high amount of proteins and high amount of vitamin B which is used for protein and fats metabolism. It contains all 10 essential amino acids so called complete protein. Venison has 3 times less cholesterol than Beef. So lower the risk of heart disease.

Mutton

Meat which comes from goat and sheep is known as mutton. Mutton is leaner and high in nutritional values compared to beef, pork and chicken. In case of low the blood pressure mutton increases blood pressure but in high blood pressure patient it cause hypertension. Vitamin B present in mutton which acts to burn fat. It also improves sexuality and Helpful in antibody production which protects body from infections and improves immune system.It has low saturated fat.
