ANIMAL HEALTH CAMP IN PM ADARSH GRAM BANABURA ORGANIZED BY RFIS & AH.DEPT.

Today on 24th sept 2019 ,An animal health camp was conducted at Village Banabura which is a PM Adarsh Gram, under Bahragora block of East Singhbhum District with the collaboration of Reliance Foundation information services (RFIS). The RFIS has resource person in every district who goes to remote villages n ask the Agriculture /livestock farmers about their problems related to livestock and they connect the farmers with vets through Jio chat and vet gives the solution of the concerned problem. They have a farmers toll free no too. The no is 1800 419 8800 .On this no., farmer can direct call and mention their problem, after sometime the farmer will be given solution via call by the vet who is associated with RFIS. More than 150 livestock farmers rearing Sheep, goat, Backyard poultry, indigenous dairy cows, Ox, duck took part in the health camp.

The farmers were given some animal feed supplements,dewormer. The out break of newly spread disease in cattle,LSD is seen in this area but the condition is under control. The farmers were given Himax lotion and were advised to mope the whole skin/body of the infected cattles with leaf/ barks of Neem n karanj ( The leaf and barks of the tree is boiled in water & are used after cooling).The Geo-topographic location of this village is unique. From the village Banabura, the Odissa boarder is just 500mtr and WB boarder is just 10km and this village is 125 km away from the District headquarters , Jamshedpur.Here in this area there is mix culture of Odia, Bengali n jharkhandi.People take part in the cock fighting and treat their livestock with indigenous herbal home made medicine in case of livestock disease. They are having deep knowledge of ethno veterinary medicine.”I would like to thanks the resource team particularly Sandhya kujur of RFIS for their prompt acceptance to conduct this animal health camp in the area which comes under my place of posting.The role of Indian MNCs particularly Reliance and Tata group in the development of livestock sector is praisworthy and we expect almost every corporate houses to come forward with an startup in the livestock sector alongwith their CSR activity with animal welfare and livestock development.This is the need of the hour.Under the able leadership of our Great legendry PM, Modi jee ,we expect golden period in the animal husbandry sector and happiness on the faces of all the stakeholders of livestock in India” said the Touring veterinary officer of Baharagora, Dr. RK Singh.
