Dr Kirti Dua, Incharge, Centre of Wild Life and Professor, Veterinary Medicine of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana passed away on late evening of 01 June 2020. Dr. Dua joined the services of Punjab Agricultural University as Assistant Professor in Department of Veterinary Medicine on 23rd July, 1987 and was due to retire on 31st October, 2020 from GADVASU. He was awarded Commonwealth Fellowship by UK Government to pursue Ph.D study at University of Wales. He was a very good Teacher and Scientist of national repute. For his professional accomplishments, he received Young Scientist Award, D.C. Blood Gold Medal in Bovine Medicine and Fellowships of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences and Indian Society of Veterinary Medicine. He authored three books in Veterinary Medicine. He was a very popular personality among Veterinary Fraternity of the country. He was a lively and adventurous person, good orator, artist, writer and above all a generous man. He started a Farmer Welfare Society for providing free food to the poor farmers visiting University hospital and free medicines for their sick animals. His two sons are well placed in their professional life. His untimely demise is a great loss to the Veterinary Profession as well as society.May the departed Soul rest in peace.Om Shanti.
