JOURNEY FROM A MNC SOFTWARE PROFESSIONAL TO A SUCCESSFUL DAIRY ENTREPRENEUR
This is Mr. Nikky Sureka from Indore (M.P.) . Here is his journey from software professional to dairy farmer.
After completing Engg he joined Accenture (MNC) as a Business Consultant. He has worked in Accenture for 12 years . During this tenure he got an opportunity to work in America for 6 years. He was living a good life with healthy pay cheques but unfortunately the money and comfort was not giving him the content which he was looking for . He realised that he would want to do something for the society too and that’s where the idea of social entrepreneurship seeded.
In 2016 he left his job and started dairy farm in Indore. Earlier there was lot of resistance from his family , friends and relatives. They were not happy with the idea of switching his profession and getting into dairy farming. He convinced them for a pilot project by giving assurance that their life style won’t impact with his decision.
He started his dairy farm with 9 cows in beginning. He started supplying milk to his friends and relatives. He got a very good response from them and day by day demand was increasing for his milk. Soon he realised that he could expand his operations and do it on a larger scale. Then he started increasing his cows and started supplying A2 milk in Indore under his brand “Gau Amrut”. Now he was getting full support from family , friends and relatives. He started growing and now from a herd of 9 cows he has grown to 100 cows. He is supplying raw and natural Gir cow milk in Indore.
During his 3 years journey as dairy farmer he has tried to address below points
Importance of desi cow milk
Develop trust with his customers for purity and freshness
Providing a proper customer service to his customers
Educating his team to understand importance of proper hygiene and cleanliness
Making sure his cows are healthy because he knows healthy cows give the healthy milk.
Currently Gau Amrut is a family of around 100 cows serving 400 customers in city of Indore.
