Management of Umbilical Abscess in 2 months old HFCB female calf
Case was presented with history of progressively increasing swelling at the umbilicus since last 30days.
On physical examination the swelling was soft and non- reducible.
Needle aspiration revealed thick yellow coloured pus and thus the case diagnosed as Umblical abscess.
Treatment
An stab incision was given at the most dependent part of the swelling under sterile condition
About 500ml of thick yellow coloured pus was drained
The cavity was flushed with tincture iodine followed by packing of the cavity with antiseptic gauze.
Broad spectrum antibiotic IM
NSAIDs IM
