Management of Umbilical Abscess in 2 months old HFCB female calf
👉Case was presented with history of progressively increasing swelling at the umbilicus since last 30days.
👉On physical examination the swelling was soft and non- reducible.
👉Needle aspiration revealed thick yellow coloured pus and thus the case diagnosed as Umblical abscess.
👉Treatment
✔An stab incision was given at the most dependent part of the swelling under sterile condition
✔About 500ml of thick yellow coloured pus was drained
✔The cavity was flushed with tincture iodine followed by packing of the cavity with antiseptic gauze.
✔Broad spectrum antibiotic IM
✔NSAIDs IM
