Regards to all my Fellow Vets,
It was a long standing demand of Educationists of the country that a coordination committee should be formed between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the Department of Animal Husbandry Dairy Fisheries (DADF) and the Veterinary Council of India(VCI).
Keeping in view Veterinary Council of India proposed, a coordination committee between the three institutions with the basic objective of technical exchange in Veterinary and Animal husbandry sector, education and skill upgradation in Veterinary field and other related aspects.
Also for the first time the President of the Veterinary Council of India was nominated as a member of the ICAR.
It was also demanded by the Veterinary Council of India that ₹ 25 crore One Time Grant be given to all government veterinary colleges in India which was formally accepted by the Government of India and the ICAR. Proposals related to financial assistance were also sought by the Veterinary Council of India in this regard from the Veterinary Colleges of the country and the Vice-Chancellors of the Universities.Which were then sent to Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and DADF by VCI.
