• Suffering from warts Medicines provided before use of traditional formulations: 1. Inj. Anthomin 50 ml x 3 days 2. Tab. Thuja 400 – 10 tab per day 3. Thuja Ointment 15 gm Deworming (Fasmin 90 ml) was also carried out. The treatment protocol was repeated twice. The treatment cost along with doctors fee exceeded Rs 2000 but no improvement was observed. Disappointed Mrs. Rajshree came to know about NDDB’s MCPP project from Mr. Sandesh R. Kobal who works as AI worker in Pune milk union. Mr Kobal advised her to contact the union veterinarian for treatment of the cow with herbal formulations. As last hope, she approaches union veterinarian Dr. Madhuri P. Dhamale who is also project In-charge of NDDB’s MCPP project for Pune milk union. They had started treatment with traditional herbal formulations by applying herbal formulations 5-6 times per day on affected parts. It took 3 month’s for disappearance of the warts. Follow up was carried out up to 5 months post recovery and no relapse was reported. Materials required for preparation of herbal formulation: Garlic-5 pearls; Turmeric powder- 10 g; Cumin seeds-15 g; Sweet basil – 1 handful; Neem leaves– 1 handful; Butter -50 g. Cumin seeds needed to sock in water for 15 minutes and then to blend all the ingredients to a fine paste. Butter to be added in the paste and thereafter to mix again. Cost involvement in EVP – Turmeric 10 gm – Rs. 1.1/- Cumin Seed 15 gm – Rs. 3.45/- Butter 50 gm – Rs. 12.50/- Total cost per day is – Rs. 16.6/- As this case was a severe one, it took 3 month’s for cure.
