✔Previous history:
💥Animal was operated one year ago for intussusception and recovered uneventfully.
💥Then artificially inseminated later and got pregnant ( at present 7 months pregnant)
✔Present history:
💥Abdominal pain 3 days ago
💥Not passing feces since 3 days and urination normal
💥Anorectic but taking water
✔Per rectal examination
💥 Ruled out any uterine torsion
💥live 7 months fetus in normal posture, presentations, position
💥empty rectum with mucoid contents
✔Surgical management
💥Right side explorative laparotomy under local linear infiltration using lignocain 2% in standing position was done
💥The mass found was an intussusception. And it was reducible ( Video next post) but the affetced part was devitalized, so intestinal resection and anastomosis was done
💥Abdomen was closed in routine manner
💥Seteria worm recovered from the peritoneal cavity while performing right flank laparotomy , which could be an inciting cause of intussusception
✔Post op:
💥Post op animal was kept on broad spectrum antibiotic, NSAIDs, rumenotorics and fluid
💥Animal passed normal feces with in 12 hrs post surgery with regain of appetite
